The south of Pico holds hundreds of good houses. Solid stone, sea views, history in the walls. Many remain closed because their owners live in California, Boston, Toronto or mainland Portugal, and there is no one on the island to do the daily work.

QuadrosGroup Host Services exists to be that presence. This is what we do, end to end.

It starts with infrastructure

Before managing a single property, we built an operations hub in Ribeiras, at the centre of South Pico, minutes from every house between Lajes and Piedade. One base, one team, one standard for the whole operation.

The hub includes a dedicated linen room running a full textile cycle: washing, calendering and piece-by-piece quality control, to hotel standard, on every turnover. A separate area prepares breakfast boxes each morning with consistent timing and presentation. This routine work determines the quality of each stay, the reviews a property receives and the rates it can sustain in the following season.

Hospitality with authenticity

Our hospitality is authentic, delivered by people from the island: people who know the history of the whaling boats and of those who rowed them, the stories of the community, the roots and the essence of Pico and its people. That is what guests take home from a stay, and no manual can teach it. The proof is in the results: guests praise the experience in their reviews, many look to return, and others arrive because someone told them about a stay they never forgot. On an island, authenticity is the product itself.

The discipline behind the operation

The financial side is handled in-house: certified accounting, tax compliance, financial management and a monthly owner report. The owner support desk reports to you always, with full transparency: what the property earned, what it cost and why, every month, wherever you live. Our reputation depends on the numbers agreeing with us.

From idea to income

Many properties need a plan before they can earn. That work is also done in-house, in the five steps described on our Host Services page.

Feasibility: market study, investment analysis and projected returns, so the decision rests on numbers. Funding: applications to incentive programmes such as Açores 2030, designed and submitted by us. Licensing: AL registration and full legal and tax compliance. Renovation and design: works coordination with trusted interior design partners. Operation: the hosting system takes over.

We know this path because we walk it with our own capital. Our project Casa do Porto, the rehabilitation of a derelict building in Ribeiras into a five-suite guesthouse by the harbour, was approved under Açores 2030 / Construir 2030 with 65% EU co-financing of a €75,000 eligible investment. The same method and the same rigour support each client application.

Our hosting plans Core, Optimised and Executive range from essential operations to a full service with financial backoffice and funding guidance. The owner chooses the level and we tailor the service to the property and its goals. Some owners want income. Others want the house kept alive for the family. Many want both. Every agreement is designed individually.

Questions owners ask us

Can I get funding to renovate my house on Pico? Often, yes. Programmes such as Açores 2030 co-finance tourism-related rehabilitation. We assess eligibility in the feasibility study and prepare the application, as we did for our own Casa do Porto.

I live abroad. How do I stay in control? Through the owner support office: one point of contact, a monthly report with earnings and costs, and coordinated certified accounting. You see everything, from anywhere.

Does my house need to be ready? No. Closed, empty or mid-renovation, the path from idea to income exists precisely for houses that are not ready yet.
